Title: Integrating ZoomPlayer for Video Playback
Post by: bbrip on January 23, 2007, 05:28:49 am
I am still not too happy about the limited control options one has in MC12 playing back videos using either of DirectX or WMP, ie chapter support, subtitle handling etc etc

With ZoomPlayer in its latest edition 5.0 quickly becoming a defacto standard for video playback, is there any chance thsi could be integrated (maybe as an option) into MC12? That would be truly great!!

Thanks
BB

You can use the Send To > External Program system to do this.

For what it's worth, we've done a lot of work on the video engine in MC 12 to support full filter selection, zooming, panning, etc.

If you could add handling of chapters for mp4 files I'd happily shut up  ;D

Thanks

For sure , quite a great great improvement.

What is missing is a guide how to set the main decoders and filters, cause this is a real jungle ..
To set it i mean , not MC.

No.  Yaobing is the guru.  I'm like his helper in the corner.

Yes, the filters have also caused me some headache. But sorted that out eventually with the helping hand of yaobing  :)

Bit the key bit I am really, really mising is chapter support. Zoomplayer has this integrated quite nicely, ie once you got the needed filters installed (ffdshow and haali), you press the assigned buton on the remot and get a chapter submenu, where you just select the one you wnat, press ok - and there it plays.

Currently in MC12 its impossible to do this in Full View (or Monitor View, whatever its called now). The only way is to go to the detai view, look for the haali icon in the system tray, rightclick on that one and then select your chapter (or audiotrack, or subtitle - ofr the sake of it).

Quite clumsy, dont you think  ?

I am not questioning all the great work done to support video and I am greatful for all that. But the bt discribed above is really, really missing.   ::)

I will take a look of this. But it is not currrently my first priority. Eventually it will be done (hopefully).

Just so you know... I too would like to see built-in chapter support.  It's also not a huge priority for me, but if MC supported it better I'd probably build my files with chapters more often.

I find that chapters are just a great way of finding your way thru a movie as i dont always have the time to view the entire extended version of Lord of the rings all at once...  :P  I have been encoding my DVD to mp4 with chapters since 18 months now
