Title: is auto import recursive? feature request

Does auto import search for sub-sub-directories and beyond?

It seems auto import can search for sub-directories but not sub-sub-directories or beyond. Sometimes when I copy directories from other PCs it goes into my main music directory, with the artist being a sub-directory, and the album a sub-sub-directory. I copied a few such directories today and auto-import doesn't seem to pick up those files, even if I run auto-import manually.

It works for me. I just tried a folder structure that has five sub folder levels.

Something else is going on. Have you checked your Auto-Import options including the advanced options?

Perhaps you could create some test directory structures and post the complete filename paths of those files that do not import.

I cant get auto import to work at all. I told MC12 from which folder to auto import video fiels, and whenever there are new ones, it just does nothing. Hve to import them manually.

Any clue  ?

make sure you have that file type supported under the advance tab

if you do a manual import, there is an option to see detailed information, it may be trying to import it but it fails for some reason.

My default directory is \\Htpc-server\Music\

Billy Joel\Greatest Hits etc is the sub and sub-sub.

Auto import didn't work. I tried manually auto import, doesn't work either.

I still have a directory called \\Htpc-server\Music\Billy Joel\The Complete Hits Collection 1973-1997- Limited Edition Disc 2\

I haven't manually non-auto imported it yet. A manual auto import gives this:

Mp3 is selected as an autoimport file type.

Previously, autoimport always worked but I have only dumped files in root dir or in 1 level sub dir.

After further testing, auto import seems to be behaving very strangely. I just copied 5 mp3s into the root monitored folder. And auto import only picked up 2 of those 5 files! All 5 files are good files coz I have listened to them.

Yeah.... That version is really quite old.  I know there were some fixes to the Auto-Import feature a while ago.  No idea if it'd fix this though...
