Title: OT: Updates

I'm currently installing SP1 for VS2005, which I downloaded (all 450mb of it).
For 15 Minutes it took used up over 1gb of page file, + the 512 mb of memory I've got.  Then for a further 15 minutes it used 100% of the cpu.  So 30 minutes gone by now and then it comes up with the fantasic message "Do you want to install SP1 for VS2005?!"
This is on a 1700+ Athlon XP, that was running nothing else at the time.

Microsoft never cease to amaze me!  :)

An hour later and it's at the 50% mark for "Gathering Information" about my machine.
Memory usage is now fine.
CPU Usage has been at 100% for the past hour.
No other process is touching the processor, just hte install!  ::)

Sounds like you need one of those supercomputers "Soylent BLUE" or something ;)

Hehe that sounds a good idea.
It's now spent the last 20 minutes telling me that there
is 0 seconds remaining on the install.  :)
