Title: Thanks Alex B for the Change Log!
Post by: JimH on February 08, 2007, 07:00:12 am
Alex,
As we so often do, we owe you a big "Thanks!" for taking time to be so thorough.  I added a link to it on the FAQ near the top of this board.

Thanks,

As you may remember, I asked the beta testers' opinion about an MC12 change log and offered to create it some months ago. (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36004.0 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36004.0))

I have kept my change log file up-to-date, but unfortunately I really didn't have time for organizing and posting it until now. The forum software has an 8000 character limit for each post so it was not possible to simply publish the complete log file in one post.

Seems like this would work better in the Wiki.  That way anyone (even a JRiver employee) could copy and paste the release notes when they release a new version into the Wiki page containing the complete list of changes...  And it wouldn't disappear from view.

Edit:
I started a Release Notes (http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Release_Notes) page on the Wiki...

I think that it's good to have the change log in both places - in the Wiki and in here.

The wiki page doesn't have to be in the "reversed" (the oldest first) order. Perhaps it would be good to make it start from the latest build.

Here are my complete log files in text format for those who would like to update the "Release Notes" page in the Wiki:

MC12 Change Log (txt) (http://www.adart.pp.fi/mc/temp/mc12changelog.txt)

MC12 Change Log - Reversed (txt) (http://www.adart.pp.fi/mc/temp/mc12changelog_reversed.txt)

OK, all the MC12 Release Notes are on the Wiki.

http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Release_Notes (http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Release_Notes)
Also linked off the Main Page under the "Tips, tricks, and extra content" section.

I had to break them up into pages for each month's releases, or it got too big for the Wiki to handle.

Thanks for the text files.  All it took was a bit of Nedit regex search and replace magic and I had the Wiki version (except for a few tweaks).

Alex, unless something is wrong with my display, I can't view the later change log postings in http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=38834.0
They seem to start after build 140.

I have no problems with it. It shows all builds up to 447.

I saved the rendered page and uploaded it to my server: mc12changelog.htm (http://www.adart.pp.fi/mc/temp/mc12changelog.htm). It is a rather big html file (560 kB).

Can you view that file correctly?

I had the same. But after reloading the page [F5], everything works fine here.

This appears to be a browser problem. At home I was able to view the entire page and your website file with no problem. At work, both are a problem but F5 like StFeder said does work. Lots of data that I guess the browser can't handle if there's not enough memory. Thanks for the effort.
