Title: Failed to initialize the encoder plugin Error

After installing windows security updates on Windows XP SP2 I get the error "Failed to initialize the encoder plugin" wile attempting to rip to WAM lossless using the WMA v2.0.45 encoder that came with media center 11.1.201?

How do I fix this?

Reinstalling the application did not resolve the problem.

I can rip to mp3's fine. If I uncheck rip and encode simultaneously the rip finishes and then Media center crashes when it starts the encoding.

Are you using 11.1.201?

Did you install Windows Media Player v.11 too? MC11.1 is not compatible with the new WMA Losless encoder version that WMP11 installs.

Yes I am using media player v11.

Thanks for the above thread. I will uninstall mc11 and retry with mc10.
