I have beat on this for two days including reading lots of posts here with no resolution.
I have set up the server on one computer and client on another.
When I connect from the cleint the address shows up at the top of the application (192.168.1.102:80) but I do not see any songs in the library.
The server messags are:
- Initializing server
Server initialized
sherer ready to accept connections.
I then start the client
- Two messages flash by that I can not read, too quick.
Then the address of the server appears on the top of the clitn app.
The server messagees:
- recieved a connection
ready for another connection
private sharing thread started
Now what??? I do not see any files on the client???
I must be missing something real obvious.
How do I play music across this connection?

Are you running Media Server? What version of MJ? You can copy your system info from MJ's Help and paste it here. Is the version identical on both PC's?

Yes, Media Server 1.0.135 Protocol version 0.9

This last attempt gave me two additional messages on the server:
request for library
sharing thread exiting
I can't stop trying... it only seems to work when the client has admin rights! The server seems ok as a limited user ??
Do the newer version handle all this any better? If so I just may upgrade.

The server has gone through many improvements since MJ8, yes.
The server has to create a temp file, maybe you don't have enough rights to create it?
