With the coming of mc12 i find that the immensely useful plug-in 'album art finder' (think thats what it was called) is no longer working. So the question is seeing as the database mc itself uses seems to have very few of my albums and as i just had a hard drive go with all the current art on it. What are people using to get their album art?

Oh really

am i right in this understanding. Also how do I get mc12 to download cover art any way? I can't see this option.

Yes And No, There Is A Plug-In, Some Users Are Testing It.
Put The Plug-In Aside
You Can Get Cover Art In MC By
Selecting All The Files You Don't Have Cover Art For.
Then Right Click On The High Lighted Files
Select "Cover Art"
Select "Get From Internet"
You Must Have The Fields Entered Like Artist, Album Name, And Song Name.
MC Should Find Something.

thanks for that did it but it's got a lot of covers wrong - i'll be keeping an eye out for the plug-in!

Prob because users uploaded the wrong cover to the YADB server.
What should happen, is Gateley should make a user input to correct cover art. much like he did for the album\song data.
maybe with the artist name, and album name in a selectable and editable combo box, and users can start correcting the art.

For the ones the MC would not find, I just used a Google Image Search for the Artist/Album - selected the one I liked (and was of reasonable high resolution), copied to the clipboard and used the paste coverart funtion in MC!

Now that is a good idea!

Free , working ok
Can mess a bit if you send thousand albums at once.
On a manual one by one basis , Amazone is a very good source , as Rate Your Music is .
In my opinion , better than search.

Highest res. cover art is at....Wal-mart. Yes, Wal-mart.
Is MC getting covert art from YADB? I thought it was using some Internet search. Whatever it is, it needs work. I consistently return the wrong art.

The best source by far for high res front and back dvd cover art is dvdempire.com.

I end up getting my cover art that YADB doesn't have by manually using in order: Walmart, Amazon, Buy.com, CDUniverse, Google images.
I haven't tried these programs but there are:
Album Art Aggregator: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=29876&mode=threaded&pid=294305 (I couldn't get to the website right now)
Album Cover Art Downloader: http://kempele.fi/~skyostil/projects/albumart/
