Hi,
Is it possible to create a thumbnail for a video by playing the video, then pausing it at a specific time at a frame which you want to be used for that thumbnail?
thanks,
Osho

Yes, just play a video and then hit pause and then right click on the display and then choose "Use screen grab for thumbnail" from the menu.

I tried that but it didn't work for me. I am tyring to create a custom thumbnail for a .mov file. I paused and right click but I didn't see such a command for it. I tried Display View and regular normal Playing now both.
Is it sensitive to the file type?
thanks,

It needs to be a file MC plays natively. MOV files are played with the Quicktime engine.

Take look at Tools -> Options -> Playback -> DirectShow Playback Settings...
The file types in the list on the right are potentially playable natively (in DirectShow). You must have DirectShow filters to decode the format.

I did not know MC had this function. Very cool, however, since the "Use screen grab" option does not appear for Video_TS / IFO / VOB files, I assume these are also files not natively supported?...and therefore not able to use the screen grab function on these?
