Title: 365 Units of Time
Post by: benn600 on February 25, 2007, 10:49:22 am
I just used a restore for Media Center and the email says the restore is good for 365 days.  This doesn't seem right!  I thought restores were good for 14 days.

http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Purchase_and_License_Recovery#Restoring

You are limited to 10 restores/year (see the wiki for exact details).

Each key you get can be used for 14 days to license Media Center, after that, it is no good.

Then you may want to rephrase the email that I received.  It said the key will be good for 365 days.

That's not what our e-mail says.  It says the Install Key is good for 14 days.

If you want to copy and paste here, don't post your Registration Code or it will be revoked.

Subject: Temporary Install Key for JRiver, Inc. Media Center 12
Quote
You have recently restored a licence for Media Center 12. This product has a limit of 10 restores per year, and you now have 9 restores remaining.

The restore should have activated Media Center on your PC automatically.

The Install Key is attached to this email. It is valid for the next 365 days. To install on another PC, save it on a floppy disk or other media, and execute it on the second PC where you have Media Center installed. If you need an Install Key, generate a new one at the restore page:
