Hi Group
I have a problem with editing tags that started with MC 12.
After editing tags the bottom toolbar will indicate: "Saving Tag Changes (xx remaining)"
This will remain indefinitly until MC is shut down.
At which moment a "Tagging Error" window will pop up:
"Media Center encountered errors while tagging and moving files. Check that the files exist, are not read-only, and are not in use by other programs."
I have checked several times... The files are not read-only and are not used by any other program. I even switched off Search Indexing on that drive.
Can anyone help please.

I bet the file is corrupted. Make sure you aren't playing the file that you are editing at the moment. Try re-ripping the audio files or re-acquiring them.

This problem only started when I started using MC12... I have not re-installed MC11 yet...
I tried changing tags when nothing else was running, either in MC or out.
Same.
My library is 193 Gb... Re-ripping or re-acquiring is NOT an option I'm afraid...

Try seeing if you can find out whether it's a single file or file type. Try a single MP3 file, for example.

95% of my files are MP3s.
I tried single file. Single tag change.
Entire album. Multiple tag changes.
Same result.

I have seen this
If you use "unlocker" and check the file
It may list media center as having the file open one or even two times
you can use the program and terminate media center with "Unlocker" and then the problem is fixed.

Thank you KingSparta
Unlocker did it, or at least the procedures involved in making the program run.
