Title: Crash when editing 'notes' tag...
Post by: bspachman on March 03, 2007, 08:25:19 pm
As I reported in the .185 release thread:

http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=39285.msg267321#msg267321

I get a crash of MC12 when editing the notes tag. I've tried MP3/APE/APL files. The files are stored on a mapped network drive. Looking at the field definition shows that the 'notes' tag is set to be saved to the file when possible (I believe that's the default, since I haven't purposely changed those settings).

Other tags of similar type (Lyrics) don't exhibit this behavior.

Odd... Anyone else seeing this?

Try files on a local drive (just to test).

We saw a problem a few weeks ago with some incompatible APE files.   They had been encoded with another program.

Try files on a local drive (just to test).

We saw a problem a few weeks ago with some incompatible APE files.   They had been encoded with another program.

I tried a variety of files (APE/APL/MP3/M4A) that I moved to my local drive and saw the same behavior with all of them. A little more poking around shows that on my machine it matters whether you click the Notes 'close' box, or if you press 'tab'.

Clicking the close box saves the tag and does NOT crash the program.
Tabbing to close the notes field, then clicking DOES crash the program.

Let me know if you need any logs, etc...

Best,
