Hello. I have been using Jukebox 8 then decided to purchase MC11 in January. It was working fine until I updated to MC12 a few weeks back. The one problem is my ID3 tags say eg: Year=1968 and MC12 shows Date=1989.
I try to update back and forth and nothing changes. All other date fields in MC12 and MC11 show the incorrect date. I then uninstalled MC12 and tried MC11. It's now is doing the same thing.
I then downloaded and tried MediaMonkey to see how it would do. It reads the tags and updates tags fine. I then tried a few others like Media Player and they all worked ok.

I posted a topic yesterday in relation to a bug I have found. I may have posted in the wrong place because I had no response.
I have done futher investigation to the posting. I have unloaded MC12 and MC11 and reloaded Jukebox 8.0.400. My problem goes away.
The MP3 Plug in file I have noticed for Jukebox is v2.0.70 which so happens to be the same as MediaMonkey in which I have no tagging/importing issues. I have reloaded MC12 and MC11 that is using MP3 v2.2.129. Both these programs are having the same problem importing/updateing correct information to the tags.

I've edited your posts to remove duplication and to make them easier to read.

If you don't get an answer, it's possible that nobody knows what to say.
It's not a problem I've heard of. It's possible that it's a problem related to two different tagging methods. You may have two different tags in the files -- ID3v1 and ID3v2.
You could try removing the tags on a few files to see what happens. Also experiment with Library Tools. The tags and MC's database may be different. Library tools can correct that. Try a few files before you do very many and back up your library first.
But I really don't know.

If you wish to e-mail me the file I will look at it

I do Believe that JimH maybe correct, and the ID3 tags 1 and vr 2 are not the same, and may render different results depending on what program you are using.

Thankyou for the responses. I will try again what JimH said. If that still does'nt work did you mean to e-mail one of the mp3 files that has a problem?

Yes, Yep, Roger, Affirmative

Thank you so much for your help. I tried JimH's and no luck. MC12 to Tags ok. Tags to MC12 ~100/3200 wrong years. Tried many tagging programs and all tags seem to be ok. As mentioned Media Jukebox v8 still ok with tags. This files tag should be 1969 not 1989 in MC12.
Sent file as per your request...enjoy.

1969 is showing up in conductor

Yahoo Music & Itunes Shows Correct Date.

Sorry I put the 1969 in Conductor in another tagging program so I could use it in MC12 fields to compare correct dates to wrong dates.
-
You can see how this tends to be a bug or problem. If you have Auto-update on in MC12, it reads the tags then sets the wrong date. Then when MC12 updates the tags next, it changes the tag dates to the wrong date. You disable the MC12 auto feature, the manual library tools will do the same thing. I could manually change all the dates...but where ever MC12 is pulling the dates from it may keep coming back. Not too trustworth. I've pretty much had to quite using MC12. I went back and changed the date files that I have found to be wrong, that's why I used the conductor field for now. After taking so long getting acurate information in thousands of tags, its hard to know exactly how many it did change before I caught it. Even the backup database files are no good right back to MC11. They could be corrupt. The Jukebox 8 files would be ok, if I still had them!
Glad you liked the song....a real classic!
Now what?

I Did Load The MP3 In Note Pad To See If I Could Scan For 1989 But It Did Not Find Anything So It Looks Like A Bug\Problem.
I Think You Should Report It In The Bug Thread, JRiver May Want To Look At The File If They Can Not Reproduce The Problem.

Thank's for all your help. I need a little more! I'm kinda new at this. How do I move this to the "Bug" thread and is that where I had it posted before?
-
Again thank you. I figured it out.
