i just got j river, but when i try to add my library, a little ways through, my virtual memory runs out, and j river shuts down. how can i work around this?
-
Increase your Virual memory.
do you get any error messages, prior to MC shutting down?
-
Try to work in small batches.
There may be a problem with a certain file.
-
yeah i get the message that the virtual memory is running out, then i get error messages (i forgot what they say, but i've seen them before, and i think they are common when you run out of memory, something about terminating)
i guess im going to have work in small batches, but i must say, this is discouraging

Don't be too discouraged, there are some people with incredibly large librarys here
300,000+ files that aren't having to many problems.
Sometimes when people first move to Media Center they run into troubles with files
which aren't quite as they should be, either through bad downloads or rips from other programs.
Once they get past this period things get smoother.
Media Center also tends to be fairly light on resources once things are working well.
