Title: MC12 and 60 GB iPod Sync issues - help!

I have been a Media Center user for years and have never had any problems until my upgrade to MC12 (using 12.0.198).  I can no longer sync my iPod (60GB video iPod).  Media Center recognizes the iPod, goes through the motions of a complete sync, but when I eject the iPod there are no songs on the device - no playlists, artists, albumns, or songs. Nada.

I have:

Restored the iPod to the latest firmware version
Uninstalled and reinstalled MC 12 (the last time I completely uninstalled MC12, library files and all)
Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes

All to no avail.  The iPod syncs without problems in iTunes, but I hate iTunes.

What should I do?

Try initialing and synching a small number of files.
OR
Try renaming the itunes.db file on the device.
