Title: LCD Smartie Plug-In Users
Post by: JONCAT on March 30, 2007, 07:44:03 am
We can we get a census of who is using this?

Does it work properly for you?

I find that LCD Smartie is highly prone to lockup when using this plugin.

MC browsing with a remote via VFD can be delayed when the plugin is active.

Does MC completely close as a process when plug-in is active.

Overall I find behavior unstable - LCD Smartie locked up after 5 tracks changes with MC.

I have been testing this for about 5 months.

Hey DC. Yeah I've been using it for at least 6 months and it's working fine for me.

There is that known issue which leaves MC exe processes lying around when you close MC. You can get around this by writing a script to do the starting and stopping of MC+LCDSmartie in the correct sequence.

I've not experienced any stability or lockup issues. Initially, the plugin did occasionally have problems refreshing the screen after resuming from a system standby but there's an option under the LCDSmartie settings which allows you to define a driver wait time. I can't remember off the top of my head exactly what this was called but I can check if you need it. Anyway, I set a delay time of around 5 seconds and after this, I've not had a single issue.

Oh, one other detail... I'm using version 5.3 of LCDSmartie.

Hope this helps?

Ralf.

I did some massive overhauls on the system and things are looking a lot better. I'll check out your method and post back.

thanks!
