Title: Sync speed
Post by: InflatableMouse on April 03, 2007, 12:46:19 pm
What sync speeds are you guys seeing with the newer ipod models?

I have an iPod video 80GB and it syncs between 6.5 - 8.1MB/sec. Ave I would guess at 7.5MB/sec.

This is twice as fast as my iAudio U3, but still takes a couple of hours to fully sync a 60GB library.

That's almost twice the speed I get on a 5.5 generation 80gb iPod.  I have all of my music on a remote USB drive, so I know that slows it down.

I would be happier with your results, but I can't complain either.

1) All of my multi media data is remote - easy to expand & back up
2) My PC has less storage making it easier to backup
3) MC does such a good job on syncs so most of mine are net change ones that go fast anyway
4) If I do a big sync, I let it run overnight - so 2 hrs versus 5 hours is not a problem
