If you are tagging an album as the music is playing, it is possible to systematically crash MC.
Here are the steps (timing is everything with this one....).
1-Load a full album of songs.
2-Start playing the the first song.
3-Select all the songs to be tagged at the same time.
4-Open "Tag" in the "Action Window".
5-Select a tag that is already filled.
6-Select the content of the tag and right-click to Copy it to the clipboard.
7-(This is were the timing is important. You must wait for the first song to finish and for the second song to start).
At this point, right-click an empty tag field and paste the content of the clipboard into the field.
Result: MC crashes everytime.
It happened to me about 20 times this week as I was tagging, but I finally nailed down the procedure required to reproduce the bug.
Running MC 12.0.203.

I think I need more details. I'm not able to make this fail.
Do you have a log?
-
Got a log. How would you like to get it?
I assume you want the one called "Previous Log", right? My Current Log is over 25 MB and growing - I just fired up an Import and it's Thumbnailling like crazy...

send it to tom AT jriver D0t com
what type of content are you tagging?
-
You should have the log now.
I was tagging MP3s.

Got them.
Just in case my email is spam filtered I'll also ask this here ...
What plugins are you running? Could you try the same test with plugins disabled?
-
The only plugin I had was "What I'm Listening to". I uninstalled it.
I also had the UPnP server running. I deactivated it.
Funny thing... I cannot re-create the problem.
I reactivated the UPnP server. Still can re-create.
I re-installed "What I'm Listening to" and I still can re-create it.... :o
The only thing I can think of is different is that as I do these tests, my computer is working very hard at re-re-thumbnailing 55,000 files, while this morning, when I could re-create the bug at will, it was not.
I'll take another look later tonight, once thumbnailing is finished.

OT, this happens to me too. You think you nailed it, post it, and once an admin responds the problem is gone. I hate it when that happens. Makes me feel like I'm one of those users, you know :-X

I know... ;)
25 years in software development, you'd think I was able to report a bug.... Oh well....

DarkPenguin,
Were the logs any help?

The last thing looked to be a sdk call from a plugin. So need to figure out what is happening there.
