MC 12.2.207 is hanging a few seconds after I start it in Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I have tried starting with an empty library, resetting those three checkboxes that come up after any MC crash, and uninstalling and reinstalling after a restart. I also tried 12.0.203 and it did the same thing. Also when I tried to reinstall it said I had to restart each time because JRReader.dll was in use. This never happened before when I would install updates.
I am out of ideas for things to try. Here are the Windows error logs:

It was working fine for me in Vista for over a month, up until today.

I don't think I had the same issue with a file in use, but I did have an issue where a uninstall/reinstall didn't work.
I had to manually remove the remnant of files and folders after an uninstall in \Program Files\J River\Media Center and \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\J River.
Try that, reboot and reinstall.

The JRReader.DLL problem I've seen recently in XP.
I found that by bringing up taskmanager, and then killing explorer.exe (ie the shell/taskbar)
the install would then run ok. Not sure it's related to the freezing issue
however.

Done. Still freezes.

Blasted Nero 7 bloatware!
When I went to uninstall MC again, I sorted the installed programs list by date installed and noticed that Nero was installed last weekend. Searched this forum and found multiple threads about problems with Nero. According to this thread (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=39565.0), one Nero issue was fixed as of March 27, but apparently there are other conflicts.
I followed these instructions for disabling Nero Scout, and now MC12 is working with Nero still installed.
http://www.help2go.com/Tutorials/Software_Utilities/Disable_Nero_Scout_in_Nero_7.html
However, I don't want to take any chances that there are more Nero issues so I am thinking of removing it. (Glad I never paid for it... it was a free bonus when I bought some PC components.) Frankly, the only reason I installed it was to burn an ISO file. MC doesn't do that, does it? Any suggestions on a good burning program that does ISOs?
Edit: Found ImgBurn. Looks good unless someone has a better suggestion.

Glad you got that sorted.
I use Nero for burning dvd's from VOB files and sometimes recoding video files.
Imgburn is an excellent tool IMO and I use it regularly.

I've been having similar hanging issues. Having followed the instructions provided my mesue, I can also confirm that disabling Nero Scout helps the problem.
MC had hung, but it almost instantly started working again after going and disabling Scout.
It seems the other issues I'm having are related to video codecs, but that's a little irrelevant here.
I'm using MC12 .207 (i.e. latest build at writing) and Nero 7.8.5.0 on Vista Business, if you're curious.
