Title: keyboard media keys don't work right in Vista

The media keys on my keyboard only work when Media Center isn't minimized.  I'm using window Vista, and don't have any special keyboard drivers installed or anything like that.  Do you know what's wrong?

Not quite - none of the media controls work at all - not even play/pause.  In addition, the media keys work fine as long as the MC window is not minimized.  It doesn't have to have focus.  However, if MC is minimized (to the system tray), the keys don't work.
