Title: Uploading songs to SanDisk media player is taking forever

Hours to upload seems wrong. Is there any way to make this go faster?

Sometimes USB 2 devices connect at USB 1 speeds.  You could try a google search.

It takes around 6 hours to sync my 8GB Nano from scratch.  Remember, if you are using FLAC or another lossless format like many MC users, then you are likely going to need to convert the files which can take a very long time.  I am running a Core 2 Duo, which is reasonably recent and fast.  It just takes a long time to get all the data thrown out to fit on your portable.

I notice that there are two steps (obviously).  Conversion then copying.  The conversion is much slower so I'll see a song take, who knows, maybe 30 seconds to convert, and then 5 or less to copy.
