I am a very satisfied user of Media Jukebox 8.
Can I import my library (database) into Media Center 12 or is my only option to import the entire library again?
Regards

I'm not sure you can skip all the intermediate versions, but it's safe to back up your library and try it. Old versions are listed in the FAQ on the MC12 board.

Guess I'll remain a very satisfied Media Jukebox 8 user.
It was a little disingenuous for MJ8 to offer an "upgrade" for $19.95 if there is no simple way to take the database with you.
Thanks very much for the prompt response.

You could backup your mj8 library, download a trail version of MC12 and try a restore. If it doesnt work, you wont have lost anything. And it is worth the upgrade.

Thanks, tried that, and as you say lost nothing. Neither did I gain anything. Maybe I'll try installing Media Center 9.1, 10, 11... etc and upgrade step by painful step, but not tonight.

From the change log (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=38834.msg264239#msg264239):
12.0.112 (11/13/06)
...
2. Changed: Removed Media Jukebox 8 library upgrader. (it's best to reimport when coming from MJ)
...
However, you can install just MC11.1, restore your MJ8 library backup file and create a new backup file. An MC11.1 library backup file can be restored on MC12. After that you can uninstall MC11.1 with its uninstaller or keep it if preferred. An MC12 registration is valid also for the last MC11.1 build and both versions can co-exist without problems (if not used simultaneusly for handling the same media files).
