Title: Media Server

I just registered for the media server functionality only it does not do what I expected.  I think I understand what it does do and it works nicely however jut not what I was looking for.  I want to remotely control a media player.  My MP3 server will be stored in a closet connected to a Yamaha home theatre receiver optically through an SB extigy sound card.  So I want to control the media player running on my server in my closet to output to the home theatre receiver in the closet.  Not the other way around.  Please let me know if I am missing something here.

You might take a look at the web remote plug-in.  Glissando and Netremote extend what it can do, but take a look at it first.

It's under interface plugins on our plugins page.

Once it is running, you can connect to it from any web browser.
