Title: Bad Hotmail (and other e-mail problems)
Post by: JimH on May 17, 2007, 03:24:23 pm
We've been getting too many reports of our e-mail not getting delivered, so Bob did some testing today.  Here's what he found:

After doing extensive testing with hotmail, gmail and yahoo mail, I've found that hotmail is silently eating messages from one of our IP's (the one associated with this forum). I've set up a workaround for that.

The other thing I discovered with hotmail is that it put the first message from ALL of the addresses I can send from in to the junk folder. If you go in there and find the email from us and "mark it as safe" you should receive future emails from that sender (whether it be yabb, pixie, whatever) in the normal inbox.

Is Microsoft fooling around with us?

FWIW, I can't say I've ever noticed a problem with emails not being delivered.

Admittedly, I am using the "Live" mail system (I recommend the change BTW), and I think you've been on my "Safe senders" list for a while now.

More than happy to test in some way if you'd like....
