Title: Upgrade to MC 12 from MC10 - uninstall MC10?
Post by: musana on June 07, 2007, 10:56:01 pm
I have MC 10, and I just upgraded to MC 12. I restored the library and things look good, so far.

But I've been cruising the forum and other info sources, and I see language that suggests MC10 and MC12 should not live together on the computer; something about conflicting registry entries. (I note that evidently MC 11 would have detected and automatically uninstalled MC10, but MC12 did not.) There are a lot of comments on upgrading from 11 to 12, but nothing on a version jump from 10 to 12, as I did.

I have no desire to keep MC10, and would just as soon get it off my machine. Should I uninstall it now? Do any harm? If so, how recover?

Woud it lose my registration certificate, or am I now covered because MC12 is registered?

Thanks in advance.

Make a library backup in MC 12 to be safe. (File > Library > Back Up Library)

Then uninstall MC 10.

If you have any problems, simply reinstall MC 12 over the top of your existing MC 12 installation. (like you would with any newer MC 12 build)
