I have about 20,000 songs on a hard drive. When I do an import, the scan finds about 12,500. It always misses specific folders. I can point the library import options to the specific folder and import the songs, but this would be tedious for the remaining 8,000 songs.
Any thougts?

Adding to the mystery, I created a new library on a different computer on the network, but drawing from the same HD with music, and it brought in nearly 15,000 songs.

Any fix for this ? I have the same issue.

I don't think there is a current problem with this. Check the advanced setting to be sure what you're importing.

The Folder im importing has 120 Gb of mp3 files, and Media Center only adds 60' ish Gb of Mp3 .
As Sterling said "I can point the library import options to the specific folder and import the songs, but this would be tedious for the remaining 8,000 songs."
I have this same issue.

After hours of scratching my head in disbelief , I finally came up with a way round this problem, however in my opinion it is far from a "fix".
File>Quick Play>My Computer>Your Hard Drive>Your Music Folder <---- Double click on this folder.
For me it added another 10,000 song's which the library importer didn't manage to pick up.
It would be good if some of you other users to test this out , by checking your total number of files before and after doing this.
