Title: Failed to import ratings
Post by: dseuss on June 24, 2007, 09:11:47 pm
When I imported my mp3 files the user ratings failed to come along.  Can anyone tell me how to import the mp3 files with the user ratings?  Thanks.

I am using MusicMatch to do the ratings.  I have around 5000 songs rated so not being able to import the ratings is a show stopper for me.

Well the current version of Media Jukebox 8 was created about 5+ years ago, and at that time it used another rating tagging system.

Media Center Is J. Rivers Current Product, And I Believe It Will Read MusicMatch Tags Better.

You Could Test It Out.

The product that failed to import the ratings from MusicMatch was Media Center 12.0.251 which I presume is the lastest and greatest.

Bummer.  Yahoo has stopped supporting MusicMatch and is trying to force people to "upgrade" to Yahoo music which is very limited in features compared to MusicMatch.  (For example, no expandable directory view of artists, genres, albums, ratings.  No ability to sort in views as there are no views.  No smart playlist feature.)  There is a great opporutnity here for someone to pick up the ten million or so abandoned MusicMatch customers, but it doesn't look like it will be Media Center if it doesn't import MusicMatch tags (which are stored in the mp3 file, by the way, so it is not a hard technical problem).

By the way, KingSparta (or should I call you Leonidas?), I went to Thermopylae last month on my way back from Mycenae and Troy.  Awesome experience.

Thanks for trying to help.

You can add fields to MC.  If you know the name of the MusicMatch field, try adding it.

Very Good, you get an A+

I wish I could afford to make that trip, the closest I can get is the discovery channel.

there was a good show on the Kings Of Sparta a few weeks ago on the military channel.
