Hi,
I noticed that something really bad happens with .ifo file importing and the Name for it. I have all my DVDs ripped to H:\My Movies folder. I had imported all the .ifo files and named them, assigned cover art to it, edited tags for genre etc. etc. Recently I had added a few of my VCDs to that folder (which has .DAT file). I wanted to import those .DAT file so I right clicked on H:\My Movies folder in explorer and selecte MC12->Import. I encountered multiple problems.
1. All DVDs that were already in the library and were previously tagged, cover art assigned etc. have lost their properties - most of them have name as Video_TS, no cover art, genre etc. settings are lost.
2. I can't even figure out which VIDEO_TS folder is for which movie - as the Filename for this imported .dvd files shows to be Unnamed Disk etc. I can't click on it to open it in explorer. There is no way to find out which movie it is without actually playing each of them (which is a major pain considering I have 80 DVDs that I had previously imported).
3. None of the .DAT files import as Video files. I have to change their Media Type to Video to be able to play them in MC12. Once I change it - they all play OK.
Any idea how could I get back all my DVD files names, other tags and associated cover arts back?
thanks,
Osho

thats painfull.
are you sure the filenames are renamed, i thought that when you change the filename from a video-ts.ifo it wont play (it wont when i do it). have you tried to restore an older library?

I haven't renamed the filenames. That's how the filenames show up in the MC12. All the filenames are "Unknown......".

bump.. Please suggest what would (if any) be the best way to get my original, tags, covers etc. in this scenario.
thanks a lot,

i think the only change you have is restoring an older library. backup the current one first and restore an older one.
