Title: Tags are not correctly displayed in Windows XP Explorer
Post by: jann on August 21, 2002, 01:11:47 pm
I thought this problem was solved, but now I've seen in version 8.0.348, that long ID3 Tags (created with Media Jukebox) are not displayed in the whole lenght in the Windows XP Explorer. It seems, that only ID3 Tag v1 is displayed.
Was there again a change in the software, because everything was o.k. after the bugfix a few weeks ago.

Kind regards

Jan

No answer for me? Please try it on your own! Maybe this is depending on my system.

Jan,

I'm seeing the same thing, so I doubt it's your system.  See thread titled "MJ8.0.347 - Ripping and Converting."

Explorer doesn't like the custom Media Jukebox information in the ID3v2 tag.  Other programs don't mind.

The only solution right now is to not use ID3v2 tags, or to complain to Microsoft...

Take care.

That's not true.  Previous versions of MJ8 worked fine and I was able to edit the ID3v2 tags without any issue.  Something has changed to make it so the files don't have or can't display the information.

It Is True

Besides Early Versions Of MJ8 Did not save the Media Tags.

Then how could I have several hundred MP3's, ripped with MJ, with all the ID3 tag info intact?  Windows Explorer can easily read and alter those files without a problem, so something has changed.

The point seems to be mute now.  Version 355 seems to have solved the problem.
