Title: Library server conversion problem
Post by: benn600 on July 05, 2007, 01:19:43 pm
It seems that if audio conversion is enabled for library server, it still tries to affect video and then says it can't find the files.  Perhaps this could be better able to ignore video.  If I disable audio conversion, video playback of compressed divx, wmv, etc video works great if I pause it and let it buffer for 20-40 seconds...my connection can handle about any of these videos with a little buffering.

Thanks!

I guess I would have another request, if you could:
Is there any way MC on the client end could know how long the song is?  It always just shows the current position / Live
2:07 / Live
And then there is no info on the long position bar.

What if MC either got the info from the field, duration, or if once the entire mp3 was encoded, then MC could use the encoded mp3 as if it was playing an mp3 directly without conversion, and then it should be able to act like no conversion took place--showing time, allowing seeking, etc.

Also, I think the same issue may be occurring with pictures because with conversion enabled, it just jumps between pictures as if they're 0 second songs.

Yes, it should happen with (and be fixed for) both images and video...
