Could y'all e-mail me your podcast.xml file? (It's probably in C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\J River\Media Center 12\Library
(gateley @ jriver.com)

Thanks,

j

The podcast.xml file only showed that the tag was gone.

I loaded 12.0.267, changed some tags, and loaded 12.0.279, and saw no problems with the changed tags.

Can  y'all think of anything else you might have done to cause this? What exactly happens when you
restore the library backup, causing the "podmess"?

Thanks,

j

Hi Lars, your e-mail is broken: I sent a reply to your email at bigfoot.com. That apparantly forwards the message on to an address at comhem.se. Comhem.se checks the SPF records for the e-mail, and rejects it because it is coming from bigfoot.com and claiming to be from jriver.com. I think this is a pretty common issue with SPF.

Do you still have the library backup?

john,
wish I could help you, but:
- as far as I know, I've done nothing to cause the problem
- I manually retyped all missing info as soon as I found the problem

I've noticed the same thing here.  The 'default' overrides that I set up all seemed to revert back to the system defaults (things like album, artist, filename, etc.).  The files and feeds themselves are fine, but it looks like I have to go back through feed by feed and re-do my settings.

Maybe it is in a library backup, and you could try restoring it? I still haven't been able to reproduce this, so any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

i did the following

installed version 12.0.207 and restored the library to the most recent "untouched" and my settings/tags were restored

...installing the latest version of MC 12.0.279 and the settings are gone

..also the settings in the "main" options for podcasts are "wiped out" in the newest version

regards  :)

Fixed in build 284 or higher.

The problem was a "feature" designed to reset the settings to default if the version of the podcast.xml file changed. In this case, it went from "no version" to "version 1", which actually doesn't require the reset.

If you have been tripped up by this and have a library backup, restoring from the backup should restore your podcast settings.
