Title: Delete
Post by: bcbc on August 20, 2002, 09:43:19 am
Sometimes "Delete" offers me the option to delete from disk--sometimes not. Is there a way to configure MJ so "Delete" always offers that option?

It doesn't offer that option from playing now.

Not Sure Why that Is, But

Dbl Click On The Song Name, Copy the Song Name To The Clip Board, Go Back Out To Your Lib Files Paste in The Find Window The Song Name And Then Delete it From There.

Actually, I was just wondering over the last several days why MJ doesn't allow me to delete files in Playing Now (as an option).  Playing Now is where I'm at almost without fail when I want to delete a file.  First I "remove" it, then "oh crud", I have to go hunt for the file to remove it from MJ and the hard drive.

Whould you please consider putting the "delete from disk" option in Playing Now?

Pretty please?

It doesn't allow delete from "recently imported" also. I understand why that is so (it's a playlist and "deleting" here means removing from playlist). Sometime I watch to small movies and use MJ to do so. The movie file is then automatically added to recently imported. Most of the time I want this that way, but sometimes I just "quality checked" to movie and want to delete it right after.

I do it this way: Remove it from the harddisc then update the library. This removes it from the MJ-db.

also I do not go to playing now if i can help it, because i can see what is playing in the main file list, and if it needs deleted i can do it there.

Sparta--

Thanks for the work-around. It would still be nice be able to delete off the disk from Playing Now if you wanted to.

Could you please lose the first letter capitalization key?
It realy interferes with your otherwise good advice and makes reading your messages harder to follow.

If you have some kind of handicap, that prevents you from communicating using common style, then please forgive this.

No Ifs Thans Buts Here If You Want A Fast Reader To Quickly Read A Short Message While Sipping Hot Coffee Or Even A Beer. First Letter Caps Interferes With The Rhythm Of Reading And Comprehension. Get The Idea? ;-)

If You Hold Shift Down While You Click On Remove Then MJ Will Give You The Option To Delete From Disk.

Thanks, Matt.  Just tried it and it worked.  I wish that the delete key worked the same in Playing Now list, the Find Now list, and everywhere.  I would rather that the on screen dialogue that pops about regarding deleting from hard drive be used uniformly.  Never realized that there was a short cut key combination from Playing Now.  I never could remember all those Windows short cut keys.

Doof, your nickname sounds like an some kind of idiot. You have the same first letter capitalization  problem that King Sparts appears to.  Again, if this is some kind of handicap, then please forgive this.

No offense.  If some want to spend expend their efforts with random capitalizion, have fun!!

I would rather expend my efforts to suggest that the Playing Now, Find Now, and other screens have uniform and easily used (visible) options for deleting from hard drive.

Agreeable is as agreeable does.

It Is

You See James, I Was Hit With A 155mm Artillery Round When In The Military. The Doctors Did A Good Job Trying To Repair My Brain But They Could Not Get It Just Right. I Went To Therapy For 5 Years And This Is The Only Handicap I Have Right Now.

I'm Sorry, I Do Try To Type Like Normal People But I Just Can't Seem To Get It Right.
