Title: Flac Compression Level 6 vs 8

Is there any real difference in size?  ? I tested a few files...


File 1
at lv 6 the file size is 24094 KB
at lv 8 the file size is 24028 KB

File 2
at lv 6 the file size is 26686 KB
at lv 8 the file size is 26578 KB

File 3
at lv 6 the file size is 30910 KB
at lv 8 the file size is 30623 KB

Obviously, it varies track to track.  Personally, I believe the difference is not that great but 8 takes a lot longer to do.  For me personally, 6 seems to be a reasonable time (effort) for a sufficient gain in space.  Anything higher is too long for not enough additional gain.

But, if space is your premium, you might feel differently.
