Just downloaded 12.0 2 79
In doing almost anything in help
I get a msg
A Runtime error has occurred
Do you wish to run debug
Line 239 Error in loading DLL
The Debug shows
function d2hie()
var ie = navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("msie");
I AM NOT INTERESTED IN BEING A DEVELOPER
Can the be easily fixed?
Is there a phone number or email address where I can get real support.
I would be even willing to pay for it.
This seems like a great product from a feature point of view ,
but frankly at this point in my life,
I simply want stuff to work, be well supported, or I move on.
Thank you.

Can you specify the exact steps you are using to cause the error?
12.0.294 just came out a couple of days ago, try downloading and installing that (check the top of this board).
That error message doesn't look like MC. A re-install is in order for sure.

Launch MC
Hit F1 (or Help | Contents)

Help | How To | <anything > |
gives a small window that says

Looks like an IE browser (but I use FF)
I just downloaded this version yesterday.
Same problem from the version I downloaded 3 weeks ago.

Try uninstalling any Third Party Plug-ins.
System looks normal. It could be a Spyware program or Firewall or similar that's causing a problem.

I'm not if it'll help but I am using build 292 with the eqdb plugin active and I am not getting any such error message.

Media Center uses Microsoft Help format for its help. (chm) This is standard in most programs.
This is a part of Windows. It renders HTML pages using IE.
If there's a problem, it points to a Windows / IE issue.
-
Thanks everyone,
I should say that all my other help files seem to render without errors.

Please try Microsoft.
