Mine is Blue Too theater view without the icons colum on the left and the space at the top completely used (e.g. where music is written).

Please do, is it possible to customise what text is displayed to the right of the cover art ?

..if so, then this gives a good way to reduce the number of horizontally scrollable columns in PN with the lack of a 40 inch screen to view them all :D

the basis are seven smartlists sorted on number plays descending, one taking the first 5 percent of the songs the second the first 10 percent etc
something like: [Media Type]=[Audio] ~sort=[Number plays]-d,[last playd]-d ~%=30 ~a
and a view where i combine those using searchlists. saying to use one list but exclude the next (previous) one. although the results were nice i did get overlap. so i made a small plugin that calculated the average number plays for an album. and that is what i use in that view for sorting, but according to the same principle.

hey anteo, could you (or someone) tell me how I can get that sort of view organized by album? I mean, one big cover thumbnail per album (instead of one per file) and one big artist-album title, like on the lower pane of you picture. Is that part of your skin modification or just some display customization I haven't found out about? thanks!

Hi! Here's someone.

MC12 has three different image columns:

Image (large thumbnail)
Image (small thumbnail)  [only this is visible by default]
Image (small icon)

You can add any of these columns to a details view (... or remove from). You can also change the horizontal placement.

Right click a column header and select "Columns" or "Customize Current View" and add the "Image (large thumbnail)" field as a first column.

In the same right-click menu you can select the Group > Album option for grouping the files as albums and displaying the headline texts.

I got the first part, displaying one big cover per album (hadn't explored all the options yet :() but not the grouping part. Right clicking a column header in the 'audio:pane' view I can't find anything that reads 'group' anywhere... not in the main drop-down menu, not in 'columns' nor in 'customize current view :(

What is your MC version? The Group feature is quite new:
