Title: Cover Art- Image Rejected By Database
Post by: GHammer on August 11, 2007, 06:33:21 pm
What does this error indicate?
The cover art is valid, the selection fully tagged, the jpg itself is fine.

Just a guess. It usually seems to only take cover art if the image you are uploading is larger in size than what's already in the database. Again, there really needs to be a way to have multiple versions of cover art for an album.

That could be. But I see that some are already in the database when I upload too.
I think we talked about a 'quality/size' decision on uploads a while back.

I agree that multiple sizes could be a good thing. Being able to see what you are going to get either as the image itself or the details about the image would be good too.

As also indicated in another thread, the cover art capability in MC could be improved. They're adding nice new improvements keeping up with technology but perhaps it's time to take one step backwards with one developer and improve the basics. I know a lot of the new stuff they're adding I will probably never use, but the basics of adding songs, lyrics, cover art, etc. most new people to the program would probably use first. I would hate to see the new users give up at that point because they didn't think MC was the best.
