Does media center have a provision for cataloging offline media?

I would like a feature like this.  A way to backup a folder of pictures and then be able to search and find what disc contains a certain file...Plus, the ability to backup whatever files have changed or been created.  It should store a calculated code based on the file contents ... whatever it's called.

MC has done this for a number of years now....
read some here (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=33274.msg227819#msg227819)

and here (http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Add_a_custom_view_scheme_group_to_Media_Center%27s_tree) if you want to add the view scheme to the root of MC 12's tree.

After a fair bit of trouble shooting early on in MC 12's beta run (for the bored or curious (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=36631.0)) MC does a reasonably good job of maintaining offline image cds or dvds too. The thumbnails remain available without the disc in the drive, which is nice :)
