Title: convolver doesn't seem to work
Post by: boliver on August 19, 2007, 08:49:39 pm
I have the convolver plugin installed under the DirectX plugin.  After I set the input file I can't seem to enable the plugin:  when I click on the little box you just see a a check mark for 1/10 of a second and then it stops being checked.

Is this a MC 12 issue?

I just tried this with MC 11 as well and I had the same results.  What is going on?

I have exactly the same problem. Kinda bummer when I've just splashed out for Audiolense :(

No problem to get the DirectX Host plug-in and the Convolver to work under WMP 11 though.. but wants ASIO playback of course...

I really hope this will be resolved.

Boliver,

Have you got this to work yet?

Yes I got it to work.  The problem for me was that I was using .pcm files as inputs to convolver.  I thought the webpage for convolver said it accepted these but they were causing the problems (not that the error message gave me any clue about that...)

I had to translate to .wav and then run it.

FYI:  I never got a sound I liked from Convolver.  Not sure what the trouble was.  I did notice that I got somewhat different frequency response graphs each time I measured the room - moving suckouts to places where there were peaks sometimes. (!)  So perhaps my mic wasn't working too well?  Behringer 800 btw.

I like the sound from the speakers "raw" quite well actually.  (Martin Logan Scripts + sub).
