Title: Multiple, different UPnP devices at the same time with one instance of MC?
Post by: pjdevries on August 22, 2007, 04:55:02 am
I'm using the Netgear M101 for some time. Because I wanted a second UPnP device and the Netgear M101 is no longer available, I bought myself a Roku SoundBridge recently. Both devices work well in combination with Media Center 12. The only drwaback is that both devices have to be set their specific, named 'Receiver' type in the Media Center 'UPnP Server Options' because they don't work when set to 'Automatic Detection'. As a consequence, I must have two instances of Media Center running, whenever I want to use both devices at the same time.

Is there a creative solution for this problem, which lets me use both devices at the same time with one and the same instance of Media Center?

Unfortunately, we don't have a way to say "This IP address is this kind of device" yet.

What you can do is note the settings for the MP101 and for the Roku, and then choose advanced and try to find a combination that works for both.

Thanks for the response. I'll give that a try and let you know how it worked out.
