Title: Missing Albums
Post by: dgoodrie on August 23, 2007, 08:19:05 pm
I just converted from 12.279 to 12.308 and noticed that at least 10 albums are missing.  The music is in the library and has been there for quite time.

I deleted the library and did a new import but at least ten albums missing are missing by the AUDIO view.  The smartlist shows all albums.  When I select AUDIO, ALBUM ARTIST, then the panel with the Albums doesn't show all the albums for that artist.

Any ideas anyone?

Check the file types set for auto-import for the location of these albums. Any chance they are all in the same drive? Maybe the install changed some settings.

All of the files (.mp3) are on one external USB 300gb drive.  Each artist has a separate folder under the Music folder etc...

Any chance you entered the Artist/Album info without the option turned on to update the MP3 tags? If yes, creating a new library and reimporting would make it appear that the album does not exist.

I am not sure what the fix is for this problem.  All I know is that selecting: Audio, Album Artist, and then selecting a specific artist (Cher) will only show one album and not two as in the actiual mp3 master folder.  The smartlist does show 2 albums under Cher.  From what I can tell, I am short 10 albums from various artists even though they are in the media library.

If the album has multiple artists per track mp3 then the album comes up missing under the Media Center Album Artist (Auto) pane. So, I have the problem narrow down a bit but how do I fix it? ?
