Title: CD database in library
Post by: LBWood on August 24, 2007, 10:00:07 am
I was a MJ8 user for a long time, and recently installed MC12 to check it out. One of the features I liked in MJ8 was that it would keep a database of all the CDs I played. MC12 seems not to do the same thing. I can't believe that feature was removed. I must have to configure it somewhere, but I can't find out where. Any guidance?

The CD database exists, but it is not included in the default view schemes.

I created these instructions for MC11 (the tree has changed slightly since then, but the instructions should still be usable):

How-to: add All Media & CD database to the tree (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=31061.0)

I just checked how that works in MC12. The step 4 "Pick Files To Show" has a new wizard, which is very different from the old.

You can either write this text string directly to the Step 4: ~d=c

or if you want to use the new Wizard select the following in "Modify Results":

on the left: Limit database to  and on the right: CD.

You may also want to import your complete MJ8 library to MC12 (including your old CD database).
You cannot do it directly, but if you have a library backup file from MJ8 you can use MC11.1 for converting the MJ8 library.
