Had a bit of a search around on Demux AVI (but not sure what is in your AVI Container) but looks like "Nandub" lets you split out the streams.

Give this one a go - http://aubrun.jeanpierre.free.fr/avimux/avimux.html  (http://aubrun.jeanpierre.free.fr/avimux/avimux.html) .  Very simple IF, let me open up an AVI, select what streams I wanted (eg Audio and or Video) then save it back as a file.
