maybe im missing something? but i have recently been asked to be an admin for a chat service for computer repair...
Is there a way to play video. and choose internal volume and mute it? (so that i can watch video but still here audio from my personal tech chat room)(being that it is a mic only room)I played around tonight for a few hours but there was no way to mute volume when playing back my videos. so i couldnt watch videos and listen in the room at same time.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unhelpful answer #1: Vista. (app specific volume settings)
Possibly helpful answer #1: FFDSHOW - set your via the volume filter in ffdshow. Just make sure you decode with it for the video type, and it should work. (you can often do this with other decoders as well)

when i choose internal volume (player>volume>internal volume (the audio only is outdated)) in mc and mute (ctrl + M) the sound of the video, it only mutes mc.

yea thats the first thing i looked for last night. but some of my vids i was playing back, were not using ffdshow. and i could not mute media center, i had to pause it so i could hear stuff in the tech room? be a nice feature if we could mute it.
