Title: What/How to name movies?
Post by: Twit on September 22, 2007, 12:12:53 pm
Hi all,

I am a long time MC user but have only recently used it for my HTPC via Theaterview, and now import my movies as well.

My movies are either avi's or DVD vobs.

All movies are in a folder called movies.

AVI's are c:\movies\name of movie\name of movie.avi
DVDS are c:\movies\names of movie\VIDEO_TS\vobs,ifo etc(ie dvd structure)

My problem is that all avi's are imported with the correct name but all DVDS are called video_ts. What do i need to change to correct this issue. Even if i remove the VIDEO_TS then the movie gets called movies.

Any help appreciated.

Simon

You can easily change the names.

1. Select the files.
2. Use the Fill Properties From Filename tool for getting the Name tag from the directory path:
   - Right-click one of the selected files > Library Tools > Fill Properties From Filename...
   - Check the Directories rule only and use this rule: [Name]\[]

The bracket pair without a field name, [] , is a placeholder for ignoring a certain part of the directory path.
