I installed Windows Vista, and then installed Media Center 12. It made a folder in the start menu that says JRiver Media Center 12, but it's empty. I had to go into the programs files, and manually get to the program. Is this a known bug under Vista? I also tried installing the latest beta, but it did the same thing. MC-12 seems to work fine, just no application shortcuts to it.

What (complete) version of MC12 did you install? It isn't a known problem.

Hi Jim. I downloaded and installed the newest beta version, just today. Should of I installed the non-beta version first? Anyway, after not finding any icons for it in the start menu, I then went and installed the non-beta version. Still no icons, so I went and started it straight from it's folder. If installing the beta first was the problem, I can uninstall and re-install the whole thing in needed. Don't know if that's the problem though. The version I am running now is 12.0.329. The beta version I tried first, beforing installing the non-beta version, was 12.0.332

I'm experiencing same problem here. Have MC11 installed. Installed MC12.0.332 a few mins ago, and no icons in start-up folder. Currently having to launch MC by navigating to install folder.
I'm running XP Pro SP2 though.
[Edit] I downloaded and installed MC12.0.229 (from ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/MC12/ (http://ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/MC12/)) after first removing 12.0.332, and all the startup menu items and desktop shortcuts show up as expected. Might be a temporary solution until the problem's fixed with the newer build(s)

Weird, I have been running MC 12 on 2003 server for a while and for some testing, rebuilt the OS on another machine and went to load the latest version posted and had the same problem.
I checked install menu shortcuts and the folder is there, but it is empty.
Re installed and same issue. Am installing as Administrator

This is a known issue with build 332.
It will be fixed in the next build. You may need to uninstall + reinstall to get shortcuts created when installing the next build.
Sorry for the hassle.
