I receive the following error during installation:
"Cannot load plug-in.
C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 12\Plugins\in_flac.dll"
I have tried uninstalling MC from the system twice (once removing library files as well) and re-booting before install both times.
I was unable to install in_flac plug-in with previous versions either on this particular machine, but hoped the new integrated plugin would remedy this. Apparently not.
What else can I try?
I need this machine to play flac as it constitutes more than 1/2 of my library, and I wish to use this machine as my central playback unit.
Help . . . . please
my other machines had no issues with this install; one Vista, one XP, and one W2K, so the issue appears to be mine solely ?
I really prefer not to reinstall Windowz as there are no other issues with this system.

Is the plug-in in_flac.dll on your machine? Check the [MC]/plugins directory.
-
yes, the in_flac.dll did appear in the plugins directory. I even tried deleting this file and reinstalling MC.

Hi there, my very good friend.... ;)
this didn't pass you by did it by any chance....
12.0.331 (09/21/07)
1. Fixed: Smartlist option to set notes of playlist wasn't formatting text properly.
2. NEW: Added three Web Media featured websites; Digitally Imported, Sky.FM, & Internode.
3. Fixed: mpg video would not play using Nero filters. Introduced in build 12.0.330.
4. NEW: Added FLAC playback and encoder support. Thanks Scthom!
you shouldn't need to install flac plugins anymore, they should just 'be there' and work!
-marko.

My expectation (or should I say hope?) as well, however this did not prove true.
Apparently whatever had "blocked" the install of the plugins with previous builds, also prevented the integrated flac install.

I see... I feel for you :(
One for the bug thread then....

Apparently whatever had "blocked" the install of the plugins with previous builds, also prevented the integrated flac install.
If older flac plugins _and_ the new ones don't install, then there may be something screwed down too tightly with your security.
-
I thought about the security issue, but I have little running on that machine but the basics,
AVG is about it

When MC reports "Cannot load plug-in", what does this mean?
In other words, what needs to happen to load a plug-in?
What needs to be changed in the OS to allow this?
What could be stopping it?
I need some clues as to where to look, but this depends on what MC needs to do to load in_flac.dll

It looks like you are missing gdiplus.dll on win2k. Try this link:
