MC seems intent to mess up a number of different video podcasts that I like to use. For example...
ABC Nightline: http://abcnews.go.com/xmldata/xmlPodcast?id=2102937
Downloads just fine, but then won't play. The podcast is a M4V file, but when MC downloads it it "names" it MOV (and considers it a quicktime MOV file) and then can't play it. For whatever dumb reason, Quicktime Player cares about the file extension and won't play M4V files if they are named "*.mov" (which is admittedly dumb, but why is MC renaming it incorrectly?).
I have quite a few different M4V podcasts, that all work the same way.
Also, a few of my podcasts that ARE actually MOV files, hardly ever work properly in MC because of the 64 character limit. Again, I realize that Quicktime Player is stupid and broken, but since we are all aware of this limit, and since MC is the one downloading, can't it detect MOV files and truncate the file name on download?

BTW -- Gotta love that current video on Nightline, full of scare tactics and unsubstantiated speculation.... I love to hate Nightline. ;D

glynor,
That will be fixed in the next build (which we will not post today since we are already on number three for the day).

Thanks!! I'm excited.
BTW ... Both the M4V != MOV thing and the 64-char MOV thing, or just one or the other?

At this point, just the M4V != MOV thing.

That's cool... I'll take it!
