Title: Theater mode screen refresh slows down significantly

    How can I prevent the Theater mode screen refresh from slowing down?  Standard mode is okay, however, many times when I switch from standard mode to theater there's a long time for screen refresh in each of the menu selections of the theater mode.  I have sidebars on my desktop.  Sometimes, their presence affect the speed of the theater mode screen refresh, sometimes (when removed) they don't.  I 've no other applications running in the background.  Thanks for your help.

TheaterView uses 3D graphics.  The graphics card you use could be slow in drawing.  Updating the drivers for it might help.  Or switching cards.

     I'm using a ATI AIW 9600 video card with the latest catayst drivers installed.  Sometimes the theater mode screen refreshes fast.  Then, there's other times when it slows down very significally.  I've never in the past had any problems displaying 3-D graphics with my ATI card.

I have the same problem (system specs below).  Does this ever happen in standard view for you with thumbnails?

No, it has never happen in standard mode.  Hopefully, I will be replacing my video card soon.  Thanks for your response.

you could try the following:
go to options> theaterview> advanced and disable 'use high quality drawing' and put the framerate on forinstance 25fps

I have one machine with a AIW 9600, but I haven't been using MC on it for a long time.  I can try it out though, if it'd help.

The high quality drawing feature can really slow it down.  I need to try it again because I have one of the latest cards from ATI now.  Before, nothing I had would run very well with that enabled.

I bet it's something else on your computer.  Maybe malware?
