Title: Ben's St. Paul, MN Trip
Post by: benn600 on October 10, 2007, 08:59:58 pm
I will be heading up to St. Paul in a few weeks for a school related trip and was just curious if I could stop by at the J River offices at some point?  Unfortunately, we may arrive Friday night and leave Sunday evening so I'm not sure when you guys are actually there and working.

Only when the donuts are available.

Chocolate eclairs are one of my favorite pastries.

Donuts are OK, filled with Boston cream make them much better.

To wash it down a cup of cappuccino

Good Stuff

Some Vernor's ginger ale would be nice right now (you can't get it in N.C. or at least i have not found it). I have not had any since I was in Mich about 40 years ago. They prob have it in Minnesota. I think I am going to order some for my dad since it is his birthday soon. It may make him smile.

Gateley had a web cam once so jimH could see him working or daydreaming of motor cycles, later when Jim took his motor cycle keys away the web cam was trained on the hallway.

That's how I remember it

I totally, completely agree.   Mmmmmmm..... Custard.

Eclairs are like sex and pizza.  Even when they're bad, they're still pretty good.

I rode in today! A little chilly, but still a nice ride...

Why does this always happen to my posts?  (other people's too, I guess)  I post a question and after about a hundred people read it with no responses, the thread is essentially rewritten to Joke Of The Day.

It's called dodging the question. If we answered your question outright it would go a little like this... "Feel free to stop by the J River offices while you are in town, however, we will not be in them as we do not work Friday nights, Saturdays or Sundays."

But if we posted something like that we might get flamed for taking weekends off and not showing enough committment to the cause. As far as you know we work (and eat donuts) right through the weekend.

Which reminds me of a joke, did you hear the one about the dog, the penguin and the candy-sprinkled donut...

How late might you guys stay at work on November 2, 2007?  We were probably going to drive two cars anyway so I can leave earlier than the rest of my group.

Ben,
We push our chairs away from our desks, put on our top hats, and say "Good night, Loretta" at 4:59.  If you can make it by 4:00, you're welcome.

I appreciate your detailed, almost more information than I needed, post!  That should not be a problem to make it by then (unless things change).

Based on my average post rate, I will easily reach 2,000 posts by "J DAY" so this will be my celebration moment for 2,000 somewhat mildly useful posts.

I'm sipping some Diet Verner's right now.  I'll be happy to ship some Verners your way - let me know.

Change of plans.  I'm planning to leave around 9 AM.  I don't want to be rushed and then arrive as everyone is walking out the door.

Come anytime, but please don't plan on spending more than a few minutes here.  We've got work to do.

There hasn't been this much anticipation and excitement since Charlie's visit to the Chocolate Factory.

I for one admire benn's chutzpah, considering his rather "hasty" comments in the past regarding MC's workmanship. Doesn't he realize that Minnesotans never forget a grudge?  They're worse than Sicilians, AFAIK.  After all, it was a Minnesotan that coined the phrase "Revenge is a dish best savored cold."

Wait, I thought that was an old Klingon proverb?  I guess they live in MN?

...and never go in against a Minnesotan when death is on the line!

Absolutely true...I guess I'm just preparing.

I guess it would make sense: the river of chocolate (J's).  I'm hoping for a chocolate river and waiting pool where meetings are held.

Sorry if half your staff calls in sick Friday.

Take lots of pictures Ben, and try to install a wireless cam so we can see their secrets.

Absolutely.  benn, we're depending on you.  You're our ambassador to that Puzzle Palace on the hill.  Find out how they tick.  Put a webcam on the bill of your skoal hat and mirrors on the toes of your shoes.

Most of all, have fun!!

Well, it's 1:10 AM and I'm about ready for bed.  I spent about three hours cleaning and checking over my car, not to mention packing.  I'll finish in the morning.  I plan on setting up my video camera in my car to record my driving and then I can speed it up 5,000% or something crazy like that.  I can't wait to see that.  I even burned a CD for the trip with music my iPhone doesn't have on it.

MC's CD burning is so amazing.  The cover art that is generated is really impressive and so easy to print.

I'll see you all soon!

Sorry but I didn't take too many.  I took some of their building and immediately inside but none inside the J River offices.  They can take and post some if they want.
