Title: handheld feature idea
Post by: richard.e.morton on October 16, 2007, 04:53:07 pm
Hi,

I have a problem... my memory is rubbish (and I am only 30, imagine what it'll be in another 30 years - lol)

anyway, I end up going into stores and buying the same music I already have.

I use a mobile phone as a media player... and so although it can't have my entire collection on it, so I can't check before I buy.

Would it be useful to others if in the sync options there was an option to also add onto the device a text, csv or html file listing every artist/album in the library???

Thanks

Richard

That's a very nice idea.  I've been thinking of something similar for contacts.

I like this idea as well ... then when someone states "you mean you don't have xxxx!" I can say "Yes I do!  Look here.  It's just not currently on my iPod"

Very good idea, i've got the same kind of problem. I'd like to be able to make the difference between the music I'm currently "testing" and the CDs I already own, sometimes twice : I really need that feature ;)
I can see this immediatly in MC (custom field), but not on my iPod. That's why something a little customizable would be nice, for example being able to choose the fields you want printed in this file (or in the Notes section of the iPod).

ok, so another idea, very related one.

When I put in a CD or DVD I don't rip I would like to be given the option to add the DVD to my library as an external source. The idea being the same as below, so I have access to a complete list of library (even if it is not strictly available to the program).

Then when adding the library list to the handheld I get a complete list of the movies I own as well!

I know I am asking for a feature enhancement for a feature that isn't even implemented, cheeky huh!
