I'm stumped and feeling stupid. I just did a fresh install of Windows XP, MC12, etc. I killed my main music HD and have to use my backup drives (which are set up a bit different), so I want to do a simple import of files, (instead of a library restore), but I keep getting zero files imported, (I do have the correct media files checked).
Any ideas?

Go to Tools\Auto-Import Options\Auto-Import Folders and ensure that one of the folders points to the root directory of your music.
If it still does not work, drill into the import options for that folder and ensure all required file types are selected.
-
Been there, done that. :(
File>Library>Import Folder>D: Artist And Albums, ok, import.
-
Filetypes selected?
Maybe they've been imported? Try a search.
Maybe they're in the wrong media type?
-
Try a new library. Also, check the "Ignore deleted files" option in Options > Library > [Each folder]
Finally, you could drag-n-drop into Playing Now to force MC to parse the file. If it comes up as "Data" or something strange, it means MC doesn't like the file.

same here. I just did a fresh install of 12.0.358. No import possible. Tried all options. Files are okay (simple .mp3), same files and import work on my old install (a 11.1.201). A bug in the .358?

I'm seeing some odd results, but import works if I do an import of a single folder with the option for ignoring deleted files unchecked (I deleted a file to test).
It also works from Explorer by right clicking on a folder and choosing MC\Import.

no, so far I found no way to make the import work. Deleting files does not work (does this matter? the file has never been in the library as it is a fresh install), also navigating to single folders.
(BTW: I do not have the explorer right-click menu "add to mc library" or so)
any help is appreciated
